about

Recorded for the abandoned FAWM album, February 2006. Coincidentally, I wrote this song the day before spotting the man himself on a purple line, headed to see The Wrens - my night's destination as well. I decided "Nice to meet you, I just wrote a song about you" was perhaps too strong an introduction.

lyrics

when you're falling from a building
you don't need to be scared
you're falling but not dropping
you're floating in midair

suspended in a timewarp you will find an inner peace
if your sense of normal physics is released
gravity is superseded by the human mind
and if you close your eyes right now you'll find
that you can fly forever if you conquer time

immortality's not that hard
all you need to do is create
a word said in a theater
will always reverberate

the words may fade from memory but forever are impressed
they stay inside the crowd's subconsciousness
they soak into the walls they are embedded in the stairs
you're gone before they knew that you were there
but for a time you floated on the air
