the cameras are all pointing inside a hole about 15 minutes till the creature will show we got an anchorman preening and a-combin his hair interviewin' some farmer bout the history there he's sayin if a groundhog comes and his shadow's there we've got six more weeks of winter to bear but if he sees no shadow he sees a spring he's a remarkable creature for the weather he brings it's been around in cultures for long in fact, some would even sing this song If Groundhog Day be fair and bright, Come, Winter, have another flight; If Groundhog Day brings clouds and rain, Go Winter, and come not again. the farmer finished all of his interviews and we went back to you with the action news and the director said that's a wrap over here let's take 5 before that groundhog appears they finished all their bagels and shakes a-waiting for that groundhog to wake If Groundhog Day be fair and bright, Come, Winter, have another flight; If Groundhog Day brings clouds and rain, Go Winter, and come not again. and so the lights and the cameras and the news teams are there about 15 seconds till we're going to air but when the groundhog came the lights were way too bright he saw his shadow on the ground and he said goodnight they tried to broadcast nature's peaks and gave our winter 6 extra weeks If Groundhog Day be fair and bright, Come, Winter, have another flight; If Groundhog Day brings clouds and rain, Go Winter, and come not again.

Our Song 03:05
when you are around i always hear a sound on the radio i do not know its name and you know that it's a shame i don't know it cuz we've gotta find a melody that's only good for you and me a song that can be our first dance a song that captures our romance we need to listen some tunes and think about me and you while we hear them though debating isn't fun we both know there can only be one and so we'll listen for some time and then we'll wrack our minds but every song we've heard has a couple misplaced words we have to pick our song tonight it has to be completely right it cannot be obscure or trite or sappy we have to pick it before dawn and all the ones we've tried are wrong we've got to find which one song makes us happy it's so hard to decide when nothing that is written describes what i feel for you with just a glance at your face i'll stumble and i'll lose my place when i'm talking so i do apologize sincerely looking in your eyes but i think that any mortal's pen couldn't contemplate where we have been we have to pick our song tonight it has to be completely right it cannot be obscure or trite or sappy we have to pick it before dawn and all the ones we've tried are wrong we've got to find which one song makes us happy

i saw a commercial while watching the news my eyes were almost blinded by the red white and blues i don't remember but i think they were selling easy chairs so i went to the market and i had to pause all they sold were ribbons for this week's cause your car could use another sticker there so you can cut someone off and show them that you care these colours don't run long as we have fun we can forget the fight these colours don't run just look at our one it's printed in black and white we'll complain about the country's swing but when the chance comes we won't change anything we shouldn't change our horses in mid-death we say we shouldn't outstretch our reach how can we practice if we can't even preach with every protest you're wasting your breath let's just stand back until there's nothing left these colours don't run ask our machine gun we'll put you in your place these colours don't run look at this foam one i can point in your face there's no need to worry, there's no need to fear because protesting isn't the rage this year we'll just shrug and say liberty's a drag so i guess we'll go back to our fuel-safe cars we'll laugh at politicians and we'll listen to stars and we'll all keep on wearing american flags printed on the cloth of a doorag these colours don't run terror has not won and i'm sure we'll drink to that these colours don't run we've only begun we'll prove this world is flat

i was lookin' at the sky today it really brought me down the sun never seems to shine round here it's always in some other town it was feelin' so slow today a listless reverie i almost climbed on an old boxcar just to see where it would take me i got as far as the station when i was stopped in my tracks and i felt a certain hesitation and decided to head back i was searching for a clue i was searching for something to do searching for a catalyst or some advancer searching for questions and finding damn good answers i was talkin' to a friend today and i asked him to explain he said everybody gets bored once in a while even god on the seventh day well i know this world is cryptic and that nothing's as it seems some say it's post apocolyptic but i think that's a little extreme i was searching for a clue i was searching for something to do searching for a catalyst or some advancer searching for questions and finding damn good answers so i went up to a clergyman and asked him to give his take he just compared me to adam and eve and said ennui was my snake idle hands are the devil's tool you've gotta occupy your time get some exercise out of the way before you find you're past your prime i tried to take his words in earnest though i'm not a religious man but i don't think the lord would burn us maybe boredom's part of his plan i was searching for a clue i was searching for something to do searching for a catalyst or some advancer searching for questions and finding damn good answers so i went back to my house to stay and see what was on tv but all i saw was so frivolous nothing there could enlighten me it was then when a voice of reason suddenly became clear to me i forgot about the seasons and i smiled for i was free i was searching for a clue i was searching for something to do searching for a catalyst or some advancer searching for questions and finding damn good answers

Let's hit the town again tonight you look so good in neon lights breathing the city's frigid air letting it blow across your hair take your seat for dinner and a show take your seat dinner and a show there's a place i know don't you wanna go and have good times? i'll hold your door and reserve seats and recommend which meal to eat it's gonna be a special night i hope that it works out alright take your seat for dinner and a show take your seat dinner and a show there's a place i know don't you wanna go and have good times? let's hit the town again tonight not gonna leave until midnight it seems we are a perfect blend and i don't want this night to end take your seat for dinner and a show take your seat dinner and a show there's a place i know don't you wanna go and have good times?

the words the lies the fallen years i never thought would end but then they did pass the ones who cried the bitter tears that poured like holy water in a shot glass well now that seems so far away from me i'll breathe the winter air because i'm free to see what i can be and there'll come a day when you'll get to this place with nothing to say to the wide empty space and then look around and you'll see me sitting there when we have found there's no need for splitting hairs there's no need for splitting hairs it's flooding in my memory the photos hanging on the clothesline wet and soaked the mirrors hung strategically the candles lit to hide the cigarette smoke well you've got to take the bitter with the sweet there's nothing that you've done you can delete or people that you meet and there'll come a day when you'll get to this place with nothing to say to the wide empty space and then look around and you'll see me sitting there when we have found there's no need for splitting hairs there's no need for splitting hairs this world can show us all a lot you've got to take the wise ones with the loud fools the ones who don't know what they've got complaining like a workman blaming his tools let's kick down every door along the way although it seems like it is a cliche it's what i want to say for there'll come a day when you'll get to this place with nothing to say to the wide empty space and then look around and you'll see me sitting there when we have found there's no need for splitting hairs there's no need for splitting hairs there's no need for splitting hairs (the words the lies the fallen years) there's no need for splitting hairs (the ones who cried the bitter tears)

Call Girl 03:25
there are days when i'll search my memory and ask whatever happened to suzie v she always said she'd call me or she'd write maybe she's working for the epa or reading poetry in a nice cafe my search led me to this town and its red lights in the night where do you get off being such a call girl where did you get off tonight? one of these days you know you're gonna fall girl where did you get off tonight? you seemed to have it all when we said goodbye an ivy league school in the corner of your eye and graduating at the top of your class you had the brains and right credentials how did you achieve such lost potential i thought that all your qualities would last but alas where do you get off being such a call girl where did you get off tonight? you used to be proud you used to be a tall girl where did you get off tonight? i still have the letters that you sent to me but ever since you lost your integrity i know when i read them they'll never be the same remember when we talked about literature your thoughts back then seemed so mature i wonder if you know you're playing a dangerous game what's to blame? where do you get off being such a call girl where did you get off tonight? one of these days you know you're gonna fall girl where did you get off tonight? where do you get off being such a call girl where did you get off tonight? you used to stand proud you used to be a tall girl where did you get off tonight?

Disarmed 03:23
i wish i knew why that whenever i'm near her the things i mean to tell her evaporate can things left unsaid or implied be made clearer or can there really be no other way? as she walks away, i barely remember the weight of her body in my arms all i wished to say, it seems to transcend her and i myself am rendered disarmed the speeches i planned and the thoughts that i had all dissolve into a glance and a kiss it's all very sad and i know that it's bad cause it tears me apart just like this and now i wish only to see her alone and hope it will not be quite as strange telling myself that i'll be in the zone somehow deluded next time things will change as she walks away, i barely remember the weight of her body in my arms all i wished to say, it seems to transcend her and i myself am rendered disarmed

i met a girl by a pinball game she blushes when you say her name and she was dressed from head to toe in grey i thought i'd try and catch her eye but she just avoids my glance and sighs you know it's hard to court someone so shy a girl so fine and fair face covered by her hair i have plans of being loyal i do believe she's royal oh my good lady i bow down on one knee for you don't think i'm crazy your subject now is being true your royal shyness i boldly bow before your grace your humble servant wants you to come back to his place i'll sit by her and i'll make small talk i'll watch her but try not to stalk hope my sudden attention will not shock i'll be polite, oh i'll be so kind i'll drop a hint that i've taken a shine god save the queen repeating in my mind a girl pale and demure i think i've found a cure i think her purity can beat insecurity oh my good lady i bow down on one knee for you don't think i'm crazy your subject now is being true your royal shyness i boldly bow before your grace your humble servant wants you to come back to his place she doesn't want to dance she doesn't want to walk and now that i've come up to her she doesn't want to talk and so i must break through her shell and i can not back down i'll honor and present her with a crown oh my good lady i bow down on one knee for you don't think i'm crazy your subject now is being true your royal shyness i boldly bow before your grace your humble servant wants you to come back to his place

she always thought of me as her enemy even when the elevator was playing our song she never wanted to be the better half of me she always thought that love would take too long she can't control her rage if all the world's a stage and she's the writer i would be a write-out cuz i can be replaced or seemingly erased i'd be traced over with a dose of white out if you cannot fix it, don't admit that it's broke go ahead and laugh, if you think love is a joke every time she sees me now she'll still wish me well she's grasping at straws and hoping i cannot tell i always seemed so nice she thought i'd break the ice she thought she'd melt my heart by playing with fire you know sometimes she thought i was a lancelot but reality can't change to suit her desires i'll get it off my chest but apathy is best cuz i know it'd be too easy to hate her she's running from the truth searching for a fountain of youth it's like she's running up the down escalator if you cannot fix it, don't admit that it's broke go ahead and laugh, if you think love is a joke every time she sees me now she'll still wish me well she's grasping at straws and hoping i cannot tell and so i guess it's through there's nothing she can do and now the both of us can do as we please and so i'll jump for joy she'll find another boy next time she wants someone to feed her disease and pay all her fees and bless when she'll sneeze and laugh when she'll tease she'll find him with ease my baby's a picasso with the things that she'll say they only make sense from a safe distance away every time she sees me now she'll still wish me well she's grasping at straws and hoping i cannot tell

Diary 04:28
lying is a dangerous crime cuz you get caught every time oh it's a dangerous crime trying to forgive and explain won't make it go away oh it's always in vain that's why we should try to be true knowing what we can't do oh we should try to be true but sometimes my curiosity gets the better of me oh-oh it must be appeased i know it's not right for me to want to read i know it's not right i know it's not right to read your diary i hope i'll keep my hands off tonight lying on the carpeted ground when there is no one around a-and it's all leather-bound maybe i should just read a page there would not be much rage if i just read a page but what if there was something i'd see that i couldn't unread something you couldn't tell me i could not look you in the eye because it would be a lie oh what a dangerous crime i know it's not right for me to want to read i know it's not right i know it's not right to read your diary maybe a peek would be alright i know it's not right for me to want to read i know it's not right i know it's not right to read your diary i think i'll keep my hands off tonight

we've got all our war bonds and american flags on it's time to join your country on our silver bandwagon we've gotta weed out the patriots from all the criminals and there ain't no better way then to use some subliminals now with everywhere you bow another poster 'nother sign a little propaganda now there isn't any shelter and there is no real escape you'll always see a billboard in our cluttered landscape and when i try to drive alone i don't get very far there's a silhouette of hitler just a-chillin' in my car now with every herr and frau there's another poster 'nother sign a piece of propaganda now they load me full of symbols and of fighting hawks and doves they tell me who to hate before they tell me who to love they let me know the people it's alright to slander because they know that every goose has its propa gander now there's sweat upon my brow there's another poster 'nother sign a little propaganda now

about

'FAWM is my second album of "forced art," as it were. After recording an 8-track album in a day last March entitled "Crap Art," I discovered a group of songwriters looking to write a 14-track album in the shortest month of 2005. I figured that if I had written and recorded a relatively decent album in less than 24 hours, an album written and recorded in 28 days would be, by proxy, brilliant! I'm very satisfied with the results, and many of the songs will be given a treatment on the next Uncontrollable Few album. Until that's released (or even recorded), you can tide yourself over with this product of a hectic 4 weeks.' - the author, aged 17
