about

Killer: Ted Bundy
Victims: 30 confirmed, possibly more
Song background: When Ted attended the University of Washington, he met a woman. (Her name has never been released, but most Bundy bios refer to her as Stephanie Brooks.) She was beautiful, smart, and came from a wealthy background. Ted was enamored with her and the two began dating. However, Ted was too eager to impress her and lied often to make himself seem more sophisticated. She found this immature and broke up with him after she graduated the university, citing his lack of ambition. Ted responded by becoming focused and extroverted, began studying psychology and working for political campaigns. When they met years later, he impressed her with his new-found drive and they begun dating again (even though Ted was secretly seeing someone else). Once it seemed like she had fallen for him, he stopped returning her phone calls. He had dumped her as suddenly as she had done with him. He later stated "I just wanted to prove to myself that I could have married her." Almost immediately after this sudden end of communication, he began driving his Volkswagen Beetle to college campuses with his arm in a sling, asking young women (many of whom resembled his first sweetheart) to help him carry books or to change a flat tire. He would charm them, beat them unconscious, then rape and murder them. When he was arrested and presented with a body count of 36, he told the detectives "add one digit to that, and you'll have it." When interviewed by reporters Stephen Michaud and Hugh Aynesworth, he postulated on the nature of "the tension between the normal personality and this psychopathological entity" (but spoke of this tension only hypothetically, so as not to implicate himself).

lyrics

hello, how are you, have you got a few minutes?
could you please help a guy with a broken arm?
yeh, i have a flat tire, would you please help me spin it?
it'll only take a second, no cause for alarm

when the entity's inside me
i see things from a different view

when the entity's inside me
maybe i can forget about you

freshman year i was awkward and lonely
it was then when i met the girl of my dreams
i was crazy for her and i worshipped her only
but she left me cuz i was not what i seem

but when the entity's inside me
everything just becomes a blur
and when the entity's inside me
maybe i can forget about her

so i'm sorry if i have been staring at your face
you just remind me of someone that i used to know
but now that you're here do you need to go someplace?
just get into my car and i'll know where to go

and when the entity's inside me
i can do what i want to do / nobody else seems to have a clue
and when the entity's inside me
maybe i can forget about you

but when the entity's inside me
i feel alive again and new
and when the entity's inside me
maybe i can forget about i can forget about i can forget about i can forget about you
