about

I think this is the first song this month to include keyboards; it's actually a synth violin going through distortion and a phaser. The song itself seems to have an equal amount of "Walk Or Ride" by the Ditty Bops, "Light My Fire" by the Doors, "Walk Idiot Walk" by the Hives and "A Salty Salute" by Guided By Voices. I also think I can hear a little They Might Be Giants and The Cars in it. Thiefs steal, geniuses borrow.

lyrics

i wish i knew why that whenever i'm near her
the things i mean to tell her evaporate
can things left unsaid or implied be made clearer
or can there really be no other way?

as she walks away, i barely remember
the weight of her body in my arms
all i wished to say, it seems to transcend her
and i myself am rendered disarmed

the speeches i planned and the thoughts that i had
all dissolve into a glance and a kiss
it's all very sad and i know that it's bad
cause it tears me apart just like this

and now i wish only to see her alone
and hope it will not be quite as strange
telling myself that i'll be in the zone
somehow deluded next time things will change

as she walks away, i barely remember
the weight of her body in my arms
all i wished to say, it seems to transcend her
and i myself am rendered disarmed
